ABOUT DEFINING AND UNDERSTANDING INJURIES

This online course is an essential resource for the non-medical, non-clinical ergonomist.

Upon receiving a report that someone has a painful shoulder, neck, wrist or back, have you ever wondered what happened and, more importantly; why it happened?

Identifying the physiology of what went wrong for the worker on the job may help you prevent a work-related injury to someone else. The better you understand the body, the better equipped you are to prevent injuries.

This course will provide you with basic understanding what happens when someone gets injuried and what can be done about it.

The time frame for completing the online course is 30 days for each participant. 3 Contact Hours CE.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Describe the way work impacts the body.

  • Identify the physiological functions of the Inflammatory Response.

  • Relate how the muscles produce movement.

  • Explain the types of injuries that can occur to the soft tissue.

  • Describe the concept of the "Nutrient Pathway."

  • Identify what happens to the tissue when injured.
