A. Ergonomics Certification Workshops

The Back School’s Ergonomics Certification Workshops are 2 days in length and provide Certification of Competency. The Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (CEAS ™) designation was begun by The Back School in 2000, as validation that an individual had achieved a level of competency in ergonomics assessment skills. Our CEAS™ Certifications are nationally recognized as demonstrating that the certified individual has mastered a body of information, protocols and skills that evidence the individual’s proficiency and competency in the field of ergonomics assessment services.

Using best practices, our methods and protocols instruct attendees how to implement cost-effective, high-impact solutions for the prevention of workplace injury and practical solutions for risk reduction. The result is increased worker satisfaction and improved productivity.

When presented on a proprietary basis, our training can be custom tailored to your needs whether that means emphasizing office ergonomics more than industrial or industrial more than office or giving more focus to a specific problem area of your business or in your facility. We want to make sure than we have your specific training needs in addition to providing a broad-based, valuable educational experience that pays dividends over time.

“It’s we that should be thanking you!  Many were expecting “death by powerpoint” only to receive the reverse.

It was truly the one and only two day seminar that I felt was completely worthwhile and informative of the many, many classes I have taken in an office setting.

Thank you for keeping it interesting, informative and lively!”

B. Industrial Rehabilitation Training

Our Physical Demands Analysis & Employment Testing seminar is an effective and necessary part of a comprehensive disability prevention and disability management program, in addition to being an essential part of an employer’s workplace safety program. This two-day workshop instructs participants how to identify a job’s essential functions, as well as how to evaluate & document a new-hire’s performance in those functions. Our process is based upon objective scientific research and conforms fully to EEOC Guidelines for application of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and its amendments. By offering this training on a proprietary basis to their staff, a clinic or hospital is able to provide the same, current up-to-the-minute training to all employees at once whether the goal is to begin offering this testing as a new service or to improve delivery of already existing provision of rehab services.

Functional Capacity Evaluation is the assessment of a subject’s functional abilities is a necessary part of any return to work program. In this basic Functional Capacity Evaluation/Functional Capacity Testing Certification workshop, you will learn to perform FCEs and how to evaluate and document material handling and non-material handling aspects of work performance.

By offering this training on a proprietary basis to their staff, a clinic or hospital is able to provide the same, current up-to-the-minute training to all employees at once whether the goal is to begin offering this testing as a new service or to improve delivery of already existing provision of rehab services. Based on peer-reviewed and published clinical research, our methodology has been proven time and again to be a reliable, valid, and objective tool for determining functional ability. Our protocol does not require you to buy any additional costly equipment nor any expensive software that must be updated regularly.
