Miriam Joffe, P.T., CPE

Miriam Joffe, MS, CPE is a Board Certified Professional Ergonomist and Ergonomics Manager for Boeing’s South Puget Sound Fabrication facilities. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Physical Therapy from UTMB in Galveston and a Master Degree in Ergonomics from UMass Lowell. Her work spans dozens of high and low tech industries around the North America & Europe providing comprehensive ergonomics job analyses, industry-specific problem solving training, culture-based ergonomics programs, ergonomics design guidelines, product review and support for office ergonomics. She authored a chapter in a graduate level textbook and developed on-site and home study courses in ergonomics, is a contributing author for the two of OSHA’s voluntary ergonomics guidelines, has worked on other government projects, and developed web-based training and evaluations for clients around the globe. Miriam has presented at several national conferences the U.S. and Mexico and has served as adjunct faculty for Rocky Mountain University of Health Professionals and OSHA’s Texas Engineering Extension courses. She has been an organizing member of the Applied Ergonomics Conference since the first conference, founder of the Austin Area Ergonomics Roundtable, ASSE member, co-chair for the 2014 Puget Sound HFES Symposium and former member of both the Industrial Medicine Specialty Group of the American Physical Therapy Association and Industrial Medicine Continuing Education Advisory Board for the Texas Physical Therapy Association.
